Museum of Interactivity

Museum of Interactivity (2020)

The Museum of Interactivity (MoI) is a collaborative virtual space that collects past and present ideas about interaction design. It aims to be an inspiration for the next generation of creators of interactions. For our first opening, we curated 6 galleries, collecting a number of fundamental stories artifacts in interaction design history, and we hosted a live exhibit of thesis projects from the 2020 graduating class of Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID).

Led by Pierluigi Dalla Rosa, a group of us consisting of Nadia Kiamilev, Priyanka Kodikal, Felix Lorsignol, Ankkit Modi, Yasaman Sheri, Jane Kate Wong, and Zaza Zuilhof did a lot of sketching, exploration, brainstorming, and learning before landing on what would become the MoI web experience. I worked closely with Pierluigi from the earliest stages, personally building out our Three.js architecture, the top-down interactive site map, and the multiplayer and chat functionality on WebSockets. It was a great experience for me getting deep into creating a data structure that would support the larger group of collaborators contributing artifacts and installations for the galleries.
